Career Transition Coach Services – for Over 50 Execs & Professionals

You’re not done. But you’re not sure what’s next.

You’ve built a career. Solved problems. Led teams. Delivered results. You have a mountain of value. And yet, something’s shifted. Maybe you’ve been “elbowed out” for younger faces.

Maybe you’ve left corporate and aren’t sure what comes next. You know you don’t want a repeat of the last five years in the next five. Your CV looks like it did in the 90s. Your LinkedIn is neglected. You’re uncertain—perhaps for the first time in your life.

That’s where I come in. I’m a career transition coach for executives and professionals over 50. I’m not a therapist. I’m a practical guide. And I provide personal, hands-on services.

This is the problem. And it’s solvable.

What exactly is your next chapter? And how do you reposition yourself to make it happen?

We explore options and then clarify your direction. We define your value. We collect the evidence. Then we build your communication assets. You’ll be undestood. Visible. Respected. Sought after for your experience. And taken seriously. It’s about setting you confidently on a new path.

What We Actually Do Together

#1 Phase One: Consultation and Clarity
First, we talk. A fifteen-minute exploratory call. No charge. No obligation. You tell me where you are. I share two or three ideas. We decide if we’re a fit.

#2 Phase Two: Defining Value and Exploring Options
If we proceed, we start with the questions like these. What do you want? What don’t you want? What does success mean for you now? I’ve built AI prompts that guide this thinking and to uncover your options. You answer on your own time. The prompts help you think and explore. They don’t write for you.

#3 Phase Three: What You Do, and For Who
Now we get specific. What do you do? The problems you solve. What you build, fix, turnaround. The value you deliver. And who is your customer? Not “anyone hiring.” Who has the problems you solve? This is the “Business YOU” shift. Think narrower. Find a niche. It’s better.

#4 Phase Four: The Value Proposition and One-Liner
We distill your value proposition. What you offer. To whom. Then the one-liner. The answer to “So, what do you do now?” The sentence that makes people lean in. Not bragging. Clear communication.

#5 Phase Five: Building the Credibility & Communication Stack
Now we build your communication assets. Your CV. LinkedIn. Consulting profile. Content. The thinking becomes tangible. You do the thinking. I do the writing. It’s done-for-you. By the end, you have a complete ‘stack’ of communication pieces. They positon you. They make what you offer clear.

Whether you’re chasing typical jobs, or consulting and advisory roles. You’ll be equipped. If it’s interim exec or fractional work, you’ll have powerful documents to send. You’ll be ready.

What is the ‘Credibility & Communication Stack?’

“Stack” is a word I’ve borrowed from the tech sector. They speak about a company having a ‘tech stack’ – it’s collection of IT systems that make the business work.

Here’s what your Credibility and Communication Stack means for you.

Your CV/resume. Two pages. Sharp. Focused. Clear! Not a list of duties. A demonstration of value. What you do. What you’ve built, fixed, turned around. With numbers, stories, evidence.

Your LinkedIn profile. Your “command central.” Not neglected. A profile that says: this person knows what they do, who they help, and why they’re credible. All Star status, at minimum. And ideally, a profile that works for you—attracting the right inquiries.

Your one-page consulting profile. If you’re going the consulting, advisory, or fractional route. A pitch document. What you do, who you do it for, how you do it, why you’re trusted. This is what you send when someone says, “tell me more.”

Your authority content. The first few LinkedIn posts. The article that positions you as someone who thinks about your field, who has solutions. Not just an employee. A ‘go-to’ in your field.

LinkedIn, Networking Playbook. I provide you with LinkedIn and networking playbook – you’re a business now. Job applications are not your only game. Nothing cringy. Just good sense.

Across all the elements you attract the right conversations. You make the right impression. You communicate clearly. And that leads to opportunities. Your next chapter.

Who This Is For

My clients typically are former executives, senior management, experienced professionals who’ve had leadership roles in their firm, entrepreneurs who’ve founded and led businesses. They have all this experience… but they’re not great at presenting their value on paper, in words, online.

They’ve thought: “I know I have value, but I don’t know how to explain it simply.” Or “I don’t want to look like I’m scrambling for work.” Or “I hate selling myself, tooting my own horn.”

If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

About Gerard le Roux

I’m a personal marketing ghostwriter and career transition coach. Since 2003, I’ve helped experienced professionals—often in their 50s and 60s—reposition themselves as credible consultants, advisors, or board candidates, or for exec-level jobs.

Before this, I worked as a recruiter for firms like BP, Shell, and Deloitte. I’ve been featured in Business Day and Financial Mail, and invited to speak to MBA students at UCT. My clients are on every continent except Antarctica.

I work from a converted horse stable office in the Elgin Valley, South Africa, overlooking grassy paddocks and mountains.
